Lifelong natives of the Hampton Roads area, Katie and Scott Taylor are heavily involved in their community and care about those in it.
With over a decade of experience in building, property management, and business administration, the Taylors bring a knowledge and personable touch to each project. Their reputation in the industry shines through both their work and personal lives as active supporters of the Virginia Gentlemen Foundation, The Girl Scouts, VBSPCA, and SERTOMA Club of Norfolk.
The Taylors take great pride in the construction of all of their retail, restaurant, office, and residential projects.
Our Team
Scott Taylor
Scott is a native of Hampton Roads. After graduation from Greenbrier Christian Academy, he spent a year abroad volunteering on the Medical Vessel Anastasis, traveling to 14 countries in 14 months. Upon return, he attended Old Dominion University for his undergrad.
He has interests in many businesses but his focus is on Taylor Construction’s Development and Management. He is extremely involved in the local community, recently receiving the Association of Fundraising Professionals Emerging Philanthropist award, amongst other notable commendations.
He has served on the Board of Directors for the GSCC and has been the Board Chair for the Norfolk Sertoma Club, VBSPCA, and Virginia Gentlemen Foundation, spearheading millions of dollars in fundraising and significant community projects. Scott spends his time away from work with his wife, Katie, and enjoys traveling when not focusing on his Taylor Construction responsibilities.
Brandon Kirtley
Brandon was raised around the construction industry in his hometown of Fredericksburg, Virginia and his experience came from being an apprentice, carpenter to supervisor excelling in projects that ranged from production homes to historic preservations. After receiving a Bachelor of Science from Longwood University and working many years outside of the industry, Brandon returned to his construction roots. Brandon has traveled the country visiting residential home building operations and continues to learn best practices and processes from successful industry leaders in an ever-evolving home building industry. Brandon has excelled and grown in his career at local, regional and national building companies.
Brandon continues to be a recognized leader in the Hampton Roads market. Brandon has also championed many charitable projects in the region ranging from Habitat for Humanity, St Jude Dream Home and various local community volunteer initiatives. Today Brandon is the Residential General Manager for Taylor Construction.
Kevin Williams
Kevin is a life-long resident of Hampton Roads, minus a small stint in the wonderful city of Columbus, Ohio – GO BUCKEYES! Kevin brings over 25 years of experience in various areas of Residential Construction and finish carpentry to the Taylor Team. Using his knowledge of Design and Risk Management learned while in the Apprenticeship at Newport News Shipbuilding, he believes the details are what make the world go round.
When not working, family is everything and Kevin can be found on a nearby trail with his wife, fishing, or coaching his son and daughter on the Western Branch baseball and softball fields.
Tom Bauman
Tom Bauman is a 20-year resident of Hampton Roads and graduate of Deep Creek High School. He completed an Associate of Sciences degree at Tidewater Community College and continued his education at Old Dominion University before entering commercial construction. Tom has extensive experience in metal stud framing, drywall, carpentry and door installation while displaying leadership and having an eye on safety holding multiple safety certifications, including an OSHA 30 Certification and having been the designated Competent Person on multiple government projects.
Tom joined Taylor Construction in 2017 as a Superintendent, completing both renovation and ground up projects. He has since taken on the role of Operations Manager, joining Taylor Construction’s management staff in 2020. Tom has been a volunteer for the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill and is a devoted husband, brother and son. His free time is spent on the lake and racing RC cars.
Mike Ferger
Michael Ferger is a Project Manager with Taylor Construction, overseeing a diverse portfolio of commercial projects including shopping centers, veterinary clinics, and medical facilities ranging from plastic surgery offices to dental practices. He brings a strong focus on quality, safety, and team development to every project he leads.
A Virginia Beach resident for more than 10 years, Michael attended Towson University before beginning his career with the Cordish Company, where he rose to become Director of Operations for the Waterside District. In that role, he managed multiple high-profile properties across Norfolk and the Hampton Roads region, working closely with ownership, branding teams, and strategic partners to deliver large-scale developments and live-event destinations.
Today at Taylor Construction, Michael applies that same operational discipline and creativity to construction, focusing on building strong teams, delivering high-quality projects, and continuously improving how work gets done in the field.
Michael has also served on multiple boards and chambers of commerce, staying actively involved in the growth of the local business and neighborhood community. In addition to construction, he has helped create, operate, and scale businesses while planning major events with branding and marketing partners.
Outside of work, Michael is married with two kids and two dogs. He is extremely family-oriented and enjoys traveling, scuba diving, motorcycles, dad jokes, and quick one-liners. Above all, his greatest passion is making sure the people around him are having fun, feeling supported, and smiling.
Tiffany MacGeorge
Tiffany is a life-long native of the Hampton Roads area. The daughter of a union pipefitter, Tiffany has had her boots in the construction world since a young age. Certified in Project Management, Tiffany studied and received associates degrees in Civil Engineering Technology and Business Administration, both from Tidewater Community College. Since graduation, Tiffany has been immersed in commercial construction management. Involved at many levels on a variety of high-profile projects as well as ground-ups, car dealership renovations, restaurant remodels, and retail space improvements.
In addition to being a dedicated career-driven woman, Tiffany enjoys family. While away from work, her focus is spending time with her husband and three young children. With a close-knit circle of family and friends spread throughout the Hampton Roads area, quality time and outdoor activities are always a priority.
Turner Paisley
Turner brings comprehensive leadership experience across preconstruction, field operations, and project financial management, with a strong record of delivering large-scale multifamily and affordable housing developments throughout the Tidewater region.
He began his career in the field as a carpenter and project management intern after studying Business Management at West Virginia University. This hands-on foundation provides him with a practical understanding of construction means and methods, shaping a disciplined, solutions-oriented leadership approach grounded in real-world execution.
As Senior Project Manager, Turner oversees projects from early budgeting and constructability review through procurement, construction, and final closeout. He has experience delivering communities financed through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) in partnership with the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA). Turner understands the documentation, cost control, and scheduling discipline required to meet VHDA underwriting assumptions, draw processes, placed-in-service deadlines, and cost certification requirements.
His strengths include proactive risk management, financial accountability, and maintaining strict cost control to protect tax credit equity and permanent financing timelines. Turner works closely with developers, design teams, third-party inspectors, and agency representatives to ensure transparency, compliance, and timely project delivery.
Through disciplined leadership and clear communication, Turner consistently delivers high-quality projects that align with owner objectives while meeting the regulatory and financial requirements unique to affordable housing development.
Turner is a Virginia Beach native who values time outside of work as much as he does time on the jobsite. He enjoys spending time outdoors, whether on the family farm or exploring the local coastline, and prioritizes time with his wife and their dog. His strong ties to the Hampton Roads community reinforce his commitment to building quality projects that serve the region where he lives and works.
David King
David was raised in Fredericksburg, VA and has always had an interest in construction. Prior to working for Taylor Construction David was a carpenter while working through college. David graduated from Hampden-Sydney with a degree in Economics and joined Taylor Construction shortly after. He has worked in the preconstruction department previously and is now transitioned into the Superintendent position. David’s knowledge in carpentry, pre-con, and management enforces his abilities to successfully oversee landlord shells and tenant build outs. David is committed to daily success within a team environment and continued success in the commercial construction industry.
He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending free time with friends and family, hunting, fishing, or training his black lab, Betty.
Billy Wilson
Billy was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia where he graduated from St. Christopher’s School. After high school, Billy attended Hampden-Sydney College where he earned a degree in History. Once graduating from HSC, he moved to Wyoming where he worked as a fly fishing guide before relocating to Virginia Beach where he joined the Taylor Construction Family. Billy has always had an interest in construction and working in a team environment. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Sterling Briscoe
With over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, Sterling offers a broad and results-driven background across shipbuilding, heavy civil and industrial projects, wastewater treatment facilities, and residential and commercial construction. He is a graduate of the Apprentice School at Newport News Shipbuilding and attended LSU for undergraduate studies in Construction Management.
Sterling currently serves as a Commercial Project Manager/Superintendent with Taylor Construction, where he provides hands-on leadership, drives schedule and quality performance, and ensures disciplined execution from preconstruction through project closeout. He is known for his field-first approach, accountability, and commitment to delivering projects right the first time.
Outside of work, Sterling values time with his wife and three daughters, remains active in men’s ministry, and enjoys being outdoors.
Kyle Bush
Kyle is long time resident of Hampton Roads. After receiving his BS in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University in 2019, he joined Taylor Construction to help oversee our preconstruction operations. Kyle’s background in both structural and civil design experience, heavy highway construction, and large-scale commercial construction have helped him become a valuable member of our team.
In his free time Kyle enjoys working on the farm, playing softball, golfing, and spending time with his wife and son.
Jim Ethridge
Jim is a native of Hampton Roads who attended Salem High School in Virginia Beach. After graduating, he received a degree in Business Administration prior to turning his focus to construction. He started a small residential construction company targeted at building single family homes. His 13 years as a home builder and business owner along with 5 years in Real Estate has developed Jim’s construction skills to be a productive asset to the Taylor Construction Team. He has a passion for mentoring youth and competitive sports. He spent 8 years coaching competitive fast-pitch softball and has volunteered as a coach for countless sports teams. Jim supports local ALS foundations in memory of his father and references his Family and Faith as his guiding principles.
Michael Sweeney
Michael Sweeney is a member of Taylor Construction’s Pre-Construction and Development team, bringing a background in real estate investment acquisitions, estimating, and field operations. His experience reflects a practical approach to project planning, constructability, and cost alignment early in the process.
Born and raised in Hampton Roads, Michael has a strong connection to the region and enjoys working on projects that contribute to its growth. Outside of work, Michael stays active, plays in golf tournaments, travels, and enjoys live music with his fiancée.
Chris Siber
Chris comes from a military family and was born in Germany in 1989 and moved to Austin, TX in 1998. He graduated high school in 2008 and moved to Hampton Roads in 2012. Chris graduated from TCC with an associates in Science in 2014. Chris Started working for Taylor Construction in November of 2015. Chris is the Warehouse manager; ensuring an organized and safe warehouse and assisting in logistics. Chris takes deep pride in his work and believes that communication is key… It’s all in the details!
Outside of work Chris enjoys spending time with his family creating new memories. Chris prefers the outdoors and enjoys hiking, disc golf, and walking his dog.
Damien Lombardi
Damien has over 26 years of experience in finance and accounting across several industries. Damien joined Taylor Construction in 2020 where he is responsible for accounting, financial and tax reporting. Damien has a BSBA with a concentration in Financial Management from Old Dominion University, is a CFA Charterholder, and is currently in the process of becoming a CPA.
In his spare time, you can find Damien and his wife Angie enjoying time on their boat, attending ODU sporting events, or hanging out at home with their four dogs.
Nicholas Taylor
Originally from SE Louisiana, Nicholas and his wife currently reside in Chesapeake. Upon graduating from Slidell High School, he earned his BS in Construction Management from Louisiana State University (GEAUX TIGERS!). Nick has been an active project manager in multiple trades for over 15 years and loves seeing his projects come to life.
In his free time, he loves to travel to tropical locations, hanging out at the beach, and spending time with his family. Nicholas is active in his church and is passionate about his volunteer work with the Net Casters Food Bank in Deep Creek.
Rick Cox
Rick is a native of Virginia Beach who brings over 20 years of construction experience to his role as Field Superintendent at Taylor Construction. Rick is responsible for supervising all aspects of daily project operations including, scheduling, coordination of trades, delivery of scheduled materials, on-site safety and quality control oversight.
Before starting a career with Taylor Construction, Rick worked for several General Contractors in the Hampton Roads area. Ricks diverse background is comprised of projects in various fields of industry such as retail, residential, breweries, churches, assisted living facilities and site development.
Outside of work, Rick enjoys surfing trips to Costa Rica, workouts and hiking.
Alex Hall
Born and raised in Newport News, Alex received his diploma from Chesapeake Bay Academy. He studied Computer Automated Drafting and Design in Alexandria while simultaneously gaining hands-on experience working for a local restoration company. Upon returning to Newport News, Alex became a cornerstone of a production new construction company, where his exceptional carpentry skills and leadership quickly elevated him to the role of lead carpenter.
With over a decade of experience in the construction industry, Alex brings a deep understanding of project management and craftsmanship to his role as a Commercial Superintendent at Taylor Construction. Known for his proficiency in carpentry and unwavering commitment to safety, Alex ensures every project meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
In his free time, Alex enjoys playing ice hockey, hunting, and fishing. He resides in Newport News with his wife, Ashley, and their three children: Caleb, Chloe, and Sawyer. A dedicated coach, Alex leads both Caleb and Chloe’s ice hockey teams in Yorktown, where he himself once played.
Bob Warner
Bob was born in Hampton roads and grew up in Virginia Beach. After high school he got into the construction field because of his interest in creating with his hands. Bob started on the commercial side of construction doing metal stud framing and drywall work. Through his need for knowledge, he joined a residential custom home builder and started framing houses which eventually led into the exterior finishes, flooring, and interior finish arenas. Bob’s ability to quickly grasp concepts and attention to detail have allowed him to transition to a Supervisory capacity with Taylor Construction as his current responsibilities include Superintending commercial projects from start to finish. Bob grew up playing sports which gave him that competitive drive to be better and to always improve. Bob is active in coaching his daughter’s softball team and making memories with his family.
Adam Varner
Adam is a long-time resident of Hampton Roads. He spent 5 years in the Marine Corps where he had the privilege of serving his country. While at Taylor Constriction Adam started in our Residential department. He has now shifted gears and is part of the commercial Superintendent team.
In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and son.
Caleb Korrell
Caleb Korrell is a construction superintendent who combines hands-on experience with strong leadership to keep projects moving forward. A retired U.S. Navy veteran with 20 years of service as an Information Technician, Caleb brings discipline, technical expertise, and a mission-focused mindset to every job site. He values organization, clear communication, and practical decision-making in the field, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Outside of work, Caleb is a devoted husband and proud owner of five dogs. His commitment to teamwork, integrity, and follow-through carries from his military career into construction and his personal life, shaping the way he leads and builds lasting relationships.
James Alvino
James is a longtime Hampton Roads resident with over 35 years in the area. A graduate of Princess Anne High School, he built his career in the construction industry having prior experience in residential new construction, commercial construction, and remodeling. With more than 20 years of experience as superintendent, James brings a deep understanding of the building process and strong commitment to quality.
Outside of work, James enjoys hunting, surfing, cooking, and most importantly; spending time with his wife and children (with an honorable mention to his French Bulldogs).
Mark Bryant
Mark was born and raised in Virginia Beach. He developed an early appreciation for the construction industry, inspired by his father’s work as a construction business owner.
After graduating with an advanced diploma from First Colonial High School, he quickly earned his welding license and embarked on his career at the Newport News Shipyard. There, he distinguished himself as a ship fitter, playing a key role in the construction of aircraft carriers and earning recognition as a qualified competent person on site. His career continued with his transition to residential construction, where he specialized in deck carpentry and general renovations. In that role, he honed his skills in material management, employee training, and on-site leadership. Now at Taylor Construction, he uses his diverse experience and passion for innovation to deliver exceptional results and inspire the team.
Outside of work, Mark values spending time with his fiancé and his dog, Milly. In his free time, he embraces skateboarding as a creative outlet that fuels both his active lifestyle and his innovative spirit.
Kate Remley
Kate is a long time resident of Hampton Roads. She holds a degree in Strength & Conditioning from Limestone University, even serving as a coach at the university following graduation. Kate’s family background in construction and attention to detail have contributed to her successfully managing a myriad of commercial projects as our Commercial Superintendent.
Outside of work, Kate enjoys playing in an adult field hockey league, taking her dogs to First Landing State Park, and spending time with family.
Trent Covel
Trent has been a resident in Virginia Beach for four years. He grew up in Palm Desert California and joined the Navy after graduating college earning a BA in Business Finance from Liberty University in 2019. He has history in the construction industry dating back to 2016 when he began his first commercial construction role. Most notable, he took part in the build of BNP Paribas Open Stadium 1 Renovation prior to pursuing his aspirations to join the Navy.
When he isn’t working you might find him with Carmen, spending time with friends, talking to family, or partaking in DIY project at home.
Scott Waters
Scott was born and raised in Hampton and moved to the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake in 2002. His father owned a home improvement company while Scott was growing up and he started working summers at the age of 16. After graduating in 2007, he continued working with his father until moving into a residential superintendent position, and now a commercial superintendent with Taylor Construction.
Scott lives in South Milles NC with his wife Abby and four daughters – Kayla, Karli, Katherine, and Kassie. They have 2 dogs, a cat, and a coop full of chickens. Spending time with his family is his most important job. They all enjoy camping, the beach, and taking family vacations.
Shawn Crosby
Having spent over 10 years as a traveling Commercial Superintendent prior to joining Taylor Construction, Shawn brings a broad range of knowledge to the team.
Shawn’s passions including hunting, fishing, camping, volleyball, and spending time with his kids.
Jake Johnson
Jake is a Virginia Beach native, having graduated from Bayside High School. Following graduation Jake began his career in the ship repair industry as an Outside Machinist; gaining nearly a decade of hands-on experience. He later transitioned into the construction industry and now serves as a Commercial Superintendent overseeing our projects with a focus on quality and efficiency.
Outside of work, Jake enjoys working on his camper van and spending time in the woods with his dogs Flynn, Luna, and Millie.
Ellis Stedfast
Ellis was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he has spent his entire life. He attended Auburn University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Real Estate Development. His time at Auburn strengthened his interest in how projects are planned, financed, and built. Ellis serves as a Commercial Superintendent for Taylor Construction. A long-standing interest in land and construction led him into the field. He enjoys being on site, working with teams, and seeing projects come together.
Outside of work, Ellis values time with family and friends and enjoys spending his free time on the golf course.
Jason Settle
Jason is a long time resident of the Hampton Roads area. Jason started his construction career as a trim carpenter, later operating a residential trim company; while also volunteering as a medic at his local fire station. With over a decade of experience as a home builder, Jason has now successfully managed construction on over 350 single family homes.
Jason enjoys his free time by spending it with his family, golfing, and attending concerts.
Josh Templeton
Josh is a lifelong resident of the Hampton roads / great neck area and was born and raised in Virginia Beach Virginia. After receiving a degree in business management from Randolph Macon College, he then joined Taylor Construction’s residential construction team.
In his free time Josh enjoys surfing, playing golf, and going to the gym.
